About Dr. Duska Tadic

Dr. Duska is no longer working with Share Resolve. Having made the move back to Austalia, we are happy to state that she has started up a branch of Life Matters Psychologists in Bella Vista Sydney, Australia! Here’s their website: https://www.lifematters.com.au/ourteam/

Hi I’m Duska and I am a Clinical Psychologist from Australia. I lived and worked in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for two years but returned to Australia during the COVID-19 crisis. I continue to meet with people from Malaysia via online video conferencing systems such as Zoom. My passion is to empower people to live their best lives by providing education and skills which have been proven to be effective at improving our emotional well-being. I work from an evidence-based perspective, meaning I stay up to date with the latest research on the techniques which are shown to be most effective at alleviating a number of common difficulties, including mood, anxiety, parenting and relationship issues.

I have conducted and published my research in peer-reviewed journals and presented at several national and International conferences.

Qualifications

I completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at the University of Newcastle, Australia. I then went on to complete a Masters of Clinical Psychology and then a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at Macquarie University, Sydney Australia.

I have also completed extensive training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy amongst other approaches. I consider the individual needs and experiences of each person I meet and then use the most helpful tools from each of these approaches.

Experience

Most of my experience is in private practice in Australia, working with individuals, families and couples. I have experience working with children and adults. I have also worked in hospitals, universities and community settings. These roles have been clinical, research as well as teaching roles.

As well as working one-on-one with individuals I have also run many group therapy programs, including the world-renowned gold standard program for child anxiety, The Cool Kids Program. This program teaches children and their parents how to manage and overcome many common childhood worries and fears. I have also taught distress-tolerance and mindfulness groups, as well as taught in classrooms at schools in Sydney to teach teenage girls emotional resilience skills.

I have experience in the assessment and treatment of depression, anxiety, phobias, self-esteem, substance abuse, stress management and relationship difficulties to name a few.

How I work

It is my aim to empower individuals to feel in control of their own emotional health and well-being. I use a client-centered approach, meaning I tailor my approach based on the individual’s needs. We are all different and have our own unique story and journey. Following a clinical assessment, I apply the evidence-based techniques as appropriate for each individual. It is a privilege to have people share their often very painful stories and experiences with me, and thus I do my very best to help each person learn more about themselves and learn ways to manage their emotional health so they can live happy and fulfilling lives.
