About Grace Hu

In my journey as a psychologist, I have always sought to create a space where people feel safe to share their difficulties, vulnerabilities and pain.

I believe that there is immense strength in being able to take the first step to verbalise or perhaps even admit to ourselves that there is something that’s not working in our lives or to speak about the pain that we might have kept hidden.

Many times, we tend to hide and cover up our deepest fears and pains because we think that we are the only ones struggling with it, but it is often not true as we all share a common humanity. I encourage the people I work with to articulate their needs and emotions. I encourage the people I work with to articulate their needs and emotions, and I use evidence-based methods to help them take practical steps towards their goals.

Qualifications

I completed my Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and Master of Clinical Psychology at HELP University, Malaysia. I am currently registered with the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (CP1-0433) and the Malaysian Allied Health Professionals Council (MAHPC(CP)00259).

Experience

As a clinical psychologist, I provide compassionate, evidence-based therapy for individuals across the lifespan – children, adolescents, and adults. I support clients navigating a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress, OCD, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and emotional regulation.

I understand the unique stressors adults face, whether related to career, relationships, family dynamics, identity, or managing long-term psychological well-being. My approach is tailored, drawing on science-backed therapeutic techniques to help clients build resilience, improve well-being, and achieve their personal goals in a supportive and collaborative space. I have also worked in various community and outreach missions as well as in a detention centre in Sydney, Australia. I believe that psychological services should be made available to all who need it.

I have also worked with children and young people throughout my career, particularly those with special educational needs; I co-developed a social skills program specifically designed for teenagers and young adults with social communication difficulties. I currently work at the International School of Kuala Lumpur, where I support students and collaborate with teachers to address emotional, behavioural, and learning challenges.
Prior to beginning my training as a psychologist, I tutored primary and secondary school students, guiding them through the British IGCSE syllabus. Whilst living in Australia, I worked as a support worker for individuals with learning difficulties and autism. I also delivered Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) therapy for young people who were on the autism spectrum.

How I work

My primary therapeutic approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which has provided a strong foundation for my work with clients. While I initially focused on CBT, I have greatly enjoyed expanding my knowledge to include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) as part of Share Resolve’s ReFlex Method.
