Online Consultations with our Psychologists

Online consultations with psychologists

All of our psychologists regularly meet with people online. This means we can meet even if you can’t travel to our centres in Kuala Lumpur whether that’s because you live in another state or another country or because of the COVID-19 situation.

Even if you are able to travel to our offices you may prefer an online consultation with our psychologists because it saves time.

We use Zoom because it is one of the easiest video conferencing platforms to use and recent updates mean it’s security has been significantly improved. If you prefer to use another video conferencing platform please let us know.

How to use Zoom for an online consultation with our psychologists

We will send you a link with the date and time of the meeting along with the Meeting ID and Passcode. You can use a phone, tablet or a computer that’s equipped with a microphone and webcam.

Phone or Tablet

When it’s time for the meeting click on the link we sent you. If you already have Zoom on your phone the link should take you straight to the ‘waiting for host’ or ‘join with video screen’.

First time using Zoom on your phone or tablet?

If it’s your first time using Zoom your phone will ask you to install the Zoom app.

Clicking on the link does not take you straight to the meeting?

If clicking on the link does not take you straight to the meeting you can use the Meeting ID and Passcode to log in:

  • Open the Zoom app and click ‘Join a Meeting’
  • Input the Meeting ID number and click Join.
  • Enter the Meeting Passcode when you are asked.

Other issues?

  • If you see a screen saying ‘Waiting for the host to start this meeting’ wait for a few moments as your psychologist will log into Zoom shortly.
  • Your phone may ask whether you want to ‘Call with Internet Audio’ or ‘Dial In’. Choose ‘Call with Internet Audio’ to use your phones data or wifi.
