Employee Assistance Program

Our EAP services are used by a number of major companies and organisations in Malaysia, ranging from Oil and Gas MNCs to prominent international schools.

Organisations work with us to create a tailored arrangement that enables them to fully or partially cover the cost of sessions with our psychologists for their employees.

Who we are

We are a social enterprise, which means we prioritise helping others over making a profit so your employees will receive the best possible care from us.

You can read more about us here.

What we can help with

Our psychologists can help your employees address work-related and personal challenges, including difficulties with emotions, thoughts, behaviours, workplace relationships, and coping with significant life events that may impact their performance or well-being at work.

We can support employees experiencing challenges of varying severity, from everyday work-related stress to extremely serious issues such as suicidal intent or the impact of trauma.

Why we are effective

Our psychologists are all trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which scientific studies have shown is one of the most effective psychological therapies. However, we also know other evidence-based therapies such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) & Schema Therapy.

We’ve taken these best practices from western psychology and adapted them for Asian cultures. You can read more about the ReFlex Method on this page of our website.

Ensuring Confidentiality

We work with each organisation to create a process that ensures that employees can access support confidentially while also enabling the company to verify that it is funding sessions for eligible employees, within the agreed number of sessions.

Ease of Access

Employees can contact our full-time Client Liaison Manager directly via WhatsApp, call, or email from 9 am to 6 pm to arrange appointments with our psychologists. This means that you can give your employees a way to access help that does not require them to inform their employer or any internal department of their appointments.

Flexible Meeting Options

Employees have the option to speak with us in person at our offices at either KLCC or The Hub SS2. For those who prefer or require remote sessions, we also offer consultations online via Zoom.

We understand that flexibility is important, so appointments can be during or outside office hours to suit different schedules, although there are higher fees for sessions outside standard hours.

Number of sessions

The number of sessions a person may need for improvement depends largely on the severity of their difficulties, as well as other factors such as current life events and how comfortable they are with discussing their thoughts and feelings.

Companies can restrict the number of sessions that they are willing to cover for their employees. We can then work within that number of sessions or employees can pay for further sessions themselves.

Although it is difficult to predict the exact number of sessions an individual will need, we know that meaningful change is unlikely for most issues in fewer than six sessions. Most people require between eight and twelve sessions, while some may need longer. This is because we need to:

  • develop a shared understanding of the difficulties somebody is facing,
  • identify which skills or strategies they need to learn to overcome their issues,
  • help them implement these new skills & strategies in their lives and
  • troubleshoot any issues with that implementation
  • check that the changes they have made have been efffective in improving their well-being

Fees

Our fees vary depending on the level of experience of our psychologists. Organisations can choose to limit which psychologist their employees can see to keep costs lower. Or, to ensure the best match, organisations can arrange for more senior employees to see our more experienced psychologists.

You can see our list of fees on this page.

Insurance

We are panel providers for Cigna and International SOS. If your employees are insured by Cigna or International SOS we can bill them directly. This means you and your employees should not need to pay us unless their policy requires them to pay an excess.

Our team

Our Clinical Director, Dr. Dan Seal, has over 20 years of experience working as a clinical psychologist in London, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur. Dr. Dan has worked with CEOs and members of the senior leadership teams of a number of large multinational corporations.

Our psychologists have a range of experience, varied backgrounds and can communicate in multiple languages.

You can read more about our psychologists here.

Consistent Quality:

Whether you meet with a senior psychologist like Dr. Dan or one of our junior team members, the ReFlex Method and our rigorous training protocols guarantee you receive top-tier care.

We also use this method to mentor and develop our junior psychologists, maintaining a consistently high standard across our practice.

All of our psychologists frequently meet with each other to discuss the best way of helping the people they are working with (always anonymously to ensure confidentiality).

Talks & Workshops to Improve EAP Participation

One of the challenges many Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) face is low participation rates, often because employees are either unaware of the support available or hesitant to access it.

It’s essential to ensure that those who need help the most are not only aware of the resources but also feel comfortable using them.

To address this, we offer engaging talks and workshops designed to raise awareness and encourage participation.

These sessions focus on topics that resonate with employees, making them more likely to take advantage of the support offered. Some examples include:

  • How to Stop Worrying
  • How to Improve Relationships at Work & Home

Reporting & Feedback

We can provide non-identifiable usage reports so organisations can track uptake, session numbers, and themes of support requested – helping evaluate effectiveness without compromising privacy.
